Aaron Irwin Trio - Wobegon (FRESH SOUND NEW TALENT RECORDS 2018)

You can enjoy jazz full of lyrical beauty by a unusual organization of sax, guitar and drum. Leader Aaron Erwin is one of the regular musicians of Fresh Sound New Talent, which is the fourth label of the same label. Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, he earned a music degree in Chicago and Miami. It is attracting remarkable attention as performers and educators. Somewhere forked melody line, blowing which suppressed vibrato character of him. There is also a taste like the modern version of Paul Mochien Trio which gained popularity in the 80s and 90s.

Mike Baggetta - Spectre (2016)

A Fresh Sound New Talent recording artist since 2008, Baggetta leads a trio (featuring Jerome Harris and Billy Mintz), quartet (featuring Jason Rigby, Eivind Opsvik and George Schuller) and co-leads the duo project TIN/BAG with trumpeter Kris Tiner. In addition, he has worked with Donny McCaslin, Tom Harrell, Adam Kolker, Darcy James Argue’s Secret Society, Cameron Brown, Dominique Eade, Jamie Baum, Jon Irabagon, Jeff Hirshfield, Conrad Herwig, Jeremy Udden, Gerald Cleaver, Joseph C. Philips’ Numinous, Kevin Norton, Bill McHenry, Brad Shepik, Rich Perry, Steve Cardenas, Ruth Brown and Tyshawn Sorey among many others. Baggetta has performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival, The Kennedy Center, Town Hall and many other leading concert venues worldwide. He has received an ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Award and is an endorsing artist for D’Addario Strings.

Guitarist Mike Baggetta’s very personal musical style seeks to blur the lines between composition and improvisation, utilizing a host of extended techniques, widely incorporating live electronic sampling and processing in his works and performances, all while connecting a wide range of musical genres that influence him. He has earned accolades from the press that call this approach “beguilingly atmospheric…” (Time Out New York), “…ultra-lyrical” (The Village Voice) and that “Baggetta’s music is quietly transgressive… as though ideas were being snagged out of thin air.” (The Hartford Courant)

“New York jazz guitarist Mike Baggetta makes stealthy, mysterious music… he’s trying to do something personal with collective improvisation without ever getting in the way of beauty.” -Ben Ratliff, The New York Times
