Franck Filosa - My Soul, My Sol (2016)

Franck FILOSA got used to play alongside prestiguious jazz musicians. He enjoys performing with Franck AVITABILE TRIO, Richard RAUX, singers ABYAL and Sofie SORMAN, at the Théâtre Des Champs-Elysées with the ORCHESTRE SYMPHONIQUE LAMOUREUX... In 2006, Franck FILOSA recorded his first album "Oli E Pas", a tribute to the South where he was born, with Sophie ALOUR, Carine BONNEFOY and Jean-Daniel BOTTA. Musician but also a teacher, he's professor at the Dante Agostini School in Paris, and published his drums method "Jazz Session For Drums" in the year 2010. Franck FILOSA presents his new album "My Soul, My Sol" (Great Winds, 2016), recorded as a trio with Carine BONNEFOY (Sarah LAZARUS, Didier LOCKWOOD, Kenny WHEELER, Raphaël IMBERT...) on piano and Mathias ALLAMANE (Manuel ROCHEMAN, Johnny GRIFFIN, Franck AVITABILE, Charles AZNAVOUR, Kelylee EVANS, Olivia RUIZ...) on double-bass. Let's not forget swedish singer Sofie SORMAN as a guest. This album takes us into the artist's musical world, with the help of seven of his compositions and three standards arranged for quartet. Franck FILOSA s'est formé au contact de prestigieux musiciens de jazz. Il joue notamment avec Franck AVITABILE TRIO, Richard RAUX, les chanteuses ABYALE et Sofie SORMAN, au Théâtre des Champs-Elysées avec l'ORCHESTRE SYMPHONIQUE LAMOUREUX... En 2006, Franck FILOSA enregistre son premier album "Oli E Pas", hommage à son sud natal, avec la complicité de Sophie ALOUR, Carine BONNEFOY et Jean-Daniel BOTTA. Musicien mais aussi pédagogue, il enseigne à l'école Dante Agostini de Paris, et édite en l'an 2010 une méthode de batterie intitulée "Jazz Session For Drums". Franck FILOSA nous présente son nouvel opus "My Soul, My Sol" (Great Winds, 2016), enregistré en trio avec Carine BONNEFOY au piano (Sarah LAZARUS, Didier LOCKWOOD, Kenny WHEELER, Raphaël IMBERT...) au piano et Mathias ALLAMANE (Manuel ROCHEMAN, Johnny GRIFFIN, Franck AVITABILE, Charles AZNAVOUR, Kelylee EVANS, Olivia RUIZ...) à la contrebasse. N'oublions pas non-plus la chanteuse suédoise Sofie SORMAN en invitée de luxe. Cet album nous amène dans l'univers musical de l'artiste, à l'aide de sept de ses compositions et trois standards arrangés pour quartette. Savoureux !
