Songs For Sal was recorded two weeks before the birth of my son. I envisioned it as a sort of sonic welcome to the planet. For this endeavor, I enlisted the help of two great creative spirits and old friends, Dan Blake on tenor and soprano saxophones, and Garth Stevenson on bass. We hadn’t played together in many years, and had no plans or rehearsals for this session. It is simply a snapshot of a moment in time and space. - Tony Falco
