Saxophonist Rich Halley releases The Literature

New Release on Pine Eagle Records featuring bassist Clyde Reed

The Literature is the new release by the Rich Halley 3, featuring compositions by some of Halley’s influences, including Thelonious Monk, Ornette Coleman, Charles Mingus, Sun Ra, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Mongo Santamaria, Hank Williams, Jimmie Rodgers and The Carter Family. After twenty releases of originals, The Literature provides a new window into Rich Halley’s music with exciting and imaginative reinterpretations of classic tunes. 

Rich Halley has released 21 recordings as a leader. The Literature follows Halley’s earlier critically acclaimed recordings The Wild, The Outlier, Eleven, Creating Structure and Crossing the Passes.
